Chopok

At 2,024 m, Chopok is the most visited peak of the Low Tatras, situated on the main ridge between Ďumbier and Dereše. It's easily reached by cable car from either side — from Jasná in the Demänovská Valley and from the south at Bystrá — and the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Tatras and the Veľká Fatra. In summer it's a paradise for hikers and ridge-walkers, while in winter it becomes the centre of the Jasná ski resort. Thanks to its location above the Demänovská Valley, Chopok is a great year-round destination for a stay in the area.
