Demänovská Ice Cave lies in the Demänovská Valley in the Low Tatras and is among the oldest known caves in Slovakia, first mentioned back in 1299. Visitors are enchanted by its permanent ice decoration — frozen waterfalls, columns and pools — complemented by colourful sinter formations in the upper levels. A tour through this world of perpetual cold is impressive even in the height of summer. Located right in the heart of Liptov, it makes an ideal excursion from accommodation around Liptovský Mikuláš or Jasná.
