Hrad Valdštejn

Valdštejn is the oldest castle in the Bohemian Paradise, founded in the 13th century by the Lords of Valdštejn on a formation of sandstone rocks. A romantic stone path lined with baroque statues and spanned by bridges between the rocks leads to the castle. Visitors can view the Gothic remains, a chapel and viewpoints over the Hruboskalsko rock city. Accommodation near Turnov is a convenient base for hiking through the Bohemian Paradise.
