Martinské hole

Martinské hole, popularly also called Martinky, is a recreational and hiking area in the Lúčanská Malá Fatra mountains. It stretches west of the town of Martin, on the southern slope of the Krížava summit, and has for decades been one of the best-known mountain resorts of the Turiec region.

Thanks to its location and altitude, Martinské hole offers varied activities year-round. In winter it is a sought-after ski resort with slopes of varying difficulty, appreciated by families and experienced skiers alike. In summer it transforms into a base for hiking and cycling, with the open bare-top slopes rewarding visitors with wide views over the Turiec Basin, the surrounding mountains, and, on clear days, even the more distant High Tatras ridges.
