Pec pod Sněžkou
Pec pod Sněžkou
Pec pod Sněžkou began as a mining settlement and has become one of the best-known mountain resorts in the heart of the Krkonoše National Park. It lies in the valley of the Úpa River right below the Czech Republic's highest mountain, from where a cable car runs to the summit of Sněžka. In summer it's the starting point for dozens of hiking and cycling trails, and in winter a bustling ski center. Thanks to its location in the heart of the mountains, it's a popular base for accommodation and exploring the surrounding waterfalls, mountain huts and ridge trails.
