Pramen Labe

Špindlerův Mlýn

The source of the Elbe lies on the vast Labská louka meadow at an elevation of about 1,386 m and marks the symbolic beginning of one of Europe's greatest rivers. The actual spring is inaccessible due to nature protection, so a small stone spout stands here with an ornamental wall bearing the coats of arms of twenty-six towns the Elbe flows through. The site is the destination of a popular educational ridge trail with magnificent valley views. Together with the Pančava and Elbe waterfalls, it's the highlight of a trip into the highest reaches of the Krkonoše, reachable from accommodation in the area.
