Slovenský betlehem, Rajecká Lesná
Rajecká Lesná
The Slovak Nativity Scene in Rajecká Lesná is a moving woodcarving over eight metres long, created over fifteen years by master carver Jozef Pekara. Around three hundred carved figures, many of them animated, depict scenes from the birth of Jesus as well as from Slovak history and everyday life. The nativity stands in the pilgrimage complex by the Basilica of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and is one of the most visited attractions in the Rajec Valley. It's a great year-round cultural trip from accommodation around the Malá Fatra.
