Náchod State Chateau grew out of a Gothic castle above the town of the same name and gradually became a magnificent noble seat of the Piccolomini and Schaumburg-Lippe families. Its dominant feature is a mighty round tower, and inside await lavish interiors, picture galleries, and precious Brussels tapestries. The chateau guards the old road from Bohemia to Kłodzko and offers a fine view over the town. It ranks among the most visited monuments at the gateway to Broumovsko and the Kłodzko borderland.
