Státní zámek Ratibořice

Česká Skalice

The Empire-style Ratibořice chateau lies at the heart of Babiččino údolí, one of the most beautiful valleys in Bohemia, threaded by the Úpa River and meadow parkland. The place is forever linked to Božena Němcová's literary classic – it is here that her novel The Grandmother is set. Beside the chateau you can walk to the Old Bleachery, a mill, and a statue of the grandmother with children. A national cultural monument, it's a popular excursion from throughout the Broumovsko and Náchodsko regions.
