Bachledova dolina

Ždiar

Bachledova dolina is a picturesque valley stretching along the border of the Spiš Magura, the Belianske Tatras and the Podtatranská brázda depression. Administratively it belongs to the cadastral territory of the village of Ždiar and the town of Vysoké Tatry, placing it among the most beautiful and touristically attractive corners of northern Slovakia.

The valley's location is its greatest asset. Three distinct landscape zones meet here – the gently rolling Spiš Magura, the limestone ridges of the Belianske Tatras and the lower Podtatranská brázda – giving it varied scenery and open views of the surrounding mountains. It's exactly this contrast that makes Bachledova dolina a popular year-round destination for visitors.

Today the valley is best known as a sought-after mountain resort right next to the Goral village of Ždiar. In summer it attracts hikers and families seeking walks and views; in winter it's one of the favourite spots for a holiday beneath the Tatras. The proximity of the Belianske Tatras and the Spiš Magura makes it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding nature.

For visitors, Bachledova dolina is a rewarding destination that combines easy accessibility with the beauty of the Tatra foothills. Accommodation in Ždiar and the surrounding area offers an authentic Goral atmosphere along with a comfortable base – from here you have not only the valley itself within reach, but also the Belianske Tatras, the Pieniny and other gems of the northern Spiš region.
