Mlýnská kolonáda (Karlovy Vary)
Karlovy Vary
Mlýnská Colonnade is the largest and architecturally most beautiful colonnade in Karlovy Vary, built in Neo-Renaissance style to a design by architect Josef Zítek. The long pillared hall with 124 Corinthian columns houses five healing mineral springs that visitors can sample directly from the taps. The balustrade is decorated with twelve allegorical statues representing the months of the year, and promenade concerts are often held here in summer. The colonnade is the heart of the world-famous spa town listed as UNESCO World Heritage and makes an excellent base for a stay in the region.
