Národní přírodní rezervace SOOS
Nový Drahov (Františkovy Lázně)
SOOS National Nature Reserve is a unique peat bog and fen near Františkovy Lázně, famous for its so-called mofettes – bubbling emissions of carbon dioxide resembling miniature mud volcanoes. A wooden nature trail leads through the protected area, allowing safe observation of mineral springs, diatomite steppe, and rich bird life. The complex also includes natural history exhibits and replicas of prehistoric fauna, appreciated especially by families with children. The reserve makes a rewarding half-day excursion during a stay in the West Bohemian spa triangle.
