Pálava – Děvičky
Pavlov
The ruins of Děvičky Castle, also known as Dívčí hrady, rise on a striking limestone ridge in the Pálava protected landscape area above the village of Pavlov. The Gothic castle has guarded the region since the 13th century, and today's romantic ruin offers one of the finest views over southern Moravia. From the ridge you can see a mosaic of vineyards, the Nové Mlýny reservoirs, and the Pálava steppe slopes full of rare plants. Accommodation in the wine village of Pavlov makes an ideal base for hiking Pálava and tasting local wines.
