Sandberg

Bratislava (Devínska Nová Ves)

Sandberg is a world-famous paleontological site on the western slope of Devínska Kobyla, above Devínska Nová Ves. In its golden sandstone walls, which once formed the bed of an ancient sea, around 300 species of fossils have been found, including shark teeth and shells. Besides its geological uniqueness, the site offers lovely views and the heat-loving flora and fauna of a protected reserve. It is a rewarding destination for easy outings with children and a good base for time spent in nature close to the city.
