Sněžné jámy

The Sněžné jámy (Snow Pits) are two impressive glacial cirques carved into the northern slope of the main Krkonoše ridge. Their steep rock walls drop hundreds of meters, and small glacial tarns glisten at the bottom of the larger pit. The ridge trail offers a dramatic view down into the abyss and out over the distant Silesian lowlands on the Polish side. Rich in rare flora, the site is one of the most magnificent natural scenes in the Krkonoše and a fitting reward for a longer ridge hike.
