Spišská Kapitula is a unique fortified church town with a single street, dominated by the Romanesque-Gothic St Martin's Cathedral from the 13th century. Because of its significance and state of preservation, it is often called the Slovak Vatican and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site Levoča, Spišský Castle and Associated Cultural Monuments. Behind its walls you will find canons' houses, the bishop's palace and precious medieval frescoes in the cathedral. It lies just a few minutes from Spišský Castle, making it a natural part of a tour of central Spiš's monuments.
