Twierdza Boyen
Giżycko
Boyen Fortress is a large Prussian stronghold built in the mid-19th century on the isthmus between Lake Kisajno and Lake Niegocin in Giżycko. Its star-shaped layout of ramparts, bastions and gates has survived exceptionally well and is now open to visitors. The site houses museum exhibits and hosts cultural events throughout the year. Giżycko, at the heart of Masuria, is an excellent base for sailing and lakeside accommodation.
