At 1,709 metres, Veľký Kriváň is the highest peak of the Krivánska Malá Fatra and one of the region's most beautiful viewpoints. In good weather, the summit offers a panoramic view of Veľký Rozsutec, Chleb, the distant High Tatras and the wider surroundings. Convenient access is provided by a cable car from Vrátna Valley up to Snilovské sedlo saddle, from where a ridge hike continues. Terchová and Vrátna Valley are the ideal base for the ascent and for accommodation right in the mountains.
