Košice Zoo, in the Kavečany district, ranks among the largest zoos in Europe by area and is a favourite destination for families with children. Its extensive wooded grounds are home to bears, wolves, European bison, monkeys, birds of prey and many other species, plus a children's DINO Park. Set in the hills above the city, it offers a pleasant nature walk with views over the surroundings. The zoo is just a few kilometres from the centre of Košice, making it easy to combine with a stay in the city or the wider area.
