Hrad Trosky
Troskovice
Trosky is the best-known ruin in the Bohemian Paradise, and its silhouette with two stone towers has become the symbol of the entire region. The castle was built in the 14th century on two basalt volcanic peaks named Baba (Grandmother) and Panna (Maiden). The taller Panna tower can be climbed, rewarding visitors with a panoramic view of the rock cities and hilly landscape of the Bohemian Paradise. A cottage or guesthouse near Troskovice is a good base for trips to castles and sandstone rocks alike.
