Kaštieľ v Topoľčiankach
Topoľčianky
The manor house in Topoľčianky is a well-preserved neoclassical building forming the southern wing of an older manor complex. It's located directly in the village of Topoľčianky and is surrounded by an extensive English park. Thanks to its state of preservation and beauty, it's one of the most significant aristocratic residences in Slovakia and a rewarding destination for history lovers and peaceful strolls alike.
Today the manor serves as a museum with preserved period interiors that give visitors a glimpse of former life in an aristocratic residence. The exhibition also includes the manor library, holding more than 14,000 volumes, as well as valuable collections of ceramics and porcelain. In 1970 the manor was declared a National Cultural Monument in recognition of its historical and artistic value.
A visit usually combines a tour of the historic interiors with a subsequent walk through the English park, which surrounds the manor and rounds out its romantic atmosphere. The village of Topoľčianky itself is also known for other attractions – you'll find, for example, the renowned stud farm here, and the village is associated with a winemaking tradition, so a trip to the manor can easily be expanded with further experiences.
The manor in Topoľčianky is an excellent base for exploring the region beneath the Tribeč mountains and the area around Zlaté Moravce. Nearby you'll also find the well-known Mlyňany Arboretum and castle ruins in the surroundings, so with accommodation in the region you can comfortably combine several destinations into one enjoyable stay.
