Kostol Ducha Svätého v Žehre

Žehra

The Church of the Holy Spirit in Žehra is an early Gothic building from the second half of the 13th century, with a characteristic onion-domed tower rising above the Spiš landscape. Inside, unique medieval wall paintings have survived, including the precious Tree of Life, among the most valuable in Slovakia. Together with Spišský Castle and Spišská Kapitula, it forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. The picturesque village of Žehra lies right below Spišský Castle, at an ideal distance for combining several monuments into a single trip.
