Tematínsky hrad
Lúka
Tematín Castle is a romantic ruin standing over 600 meters up on the ridge of the Považský Inovec near Piešťany. The royal castle was built after the Tatar invasion of the 13th century to guard important routes; today its walls offer wide panoramas of the Považie and Podunajsko regions. Marked hiking trails lead to the ruin from the villages of Hrádok and Lúka, as well as from the Bezovec resort. Its proximity to the Piešťany spa makes the castle a popular half-day excursion destination.
