Zamek w Gniewie

Gniew

The Gothic castle in Gniew was built at the end of the 13th century by the Teutonic Order and rises on a hill above the Vistula River. The massive four-wing structure with a courtyard is one of the best-preserved Teutonic castles in the region. History comes alive here today, with knights' tournaments, period re-enactments and tours through the castle museum. The town of Gniew lies between Gdańsk and Toruń and is a rewarding stop while exploring the Vistula lowlands.
