Františkovy Lázně

Františkovy Lázně is a spa town in the Cheb district of the Karlovy Vary Region, only about 5 km north of Cheb. Home to around 5,600 residents, it forms the famed West Bohemian spa triangle together with Mariánské Lázně and Karlovy Vary. Since 2021 the town has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the entry Great Spa Towns of Europe.

Františkovy Lázně is a textbook example of a deliberately planned spa town. It was precisely its cohesive, elegant architecture and the restrained character of its colonnades, spa houses and parks that earned it a place among the world heritage sites. The town feels intimate and well kept, making it a pleasant place for a leisurely walk as well as for a longer health-focused stay.

Although small, the town's name has been a byword in Central Europe for generations. Spa traditions, manicured promenades and greenery attract visitors seeking rest and a slower pace away from the bustle of big cities. Its location close to the German border and within reach of the other two famous spa towns makes it an ideal base for exploring the whole region.
