The Hel Peninsula is a narrow, over 30-km-long sandy spit separating the Baltic Sea from the Bay of Puck. At its tip lies the fishing town of Hel, with wide beaches, a lighthouse and a well-known seal sanctuary where you can watch grey seals. The peninsula is a paradise for beach lovers, kitesurfers and cyclists on forest trails. It can be reached by car, train or boat from Gdynia or Gdańsk, making it a popular summer destination.
