Cheb
Cheb is one of the historically most valuable towns in West Bohemia, with an exceptionally well-preserved medieval core. The square is dominated by the Špalíček – a picturesque cluster of eleven timber-framed merchant houses separated by narrow lanes, one of the most photographed sights in the region. Above the town rises the Romanesque Cheb Castle with its unique two-story chapel, founded under Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. Thanks to its location near the border and the spa towns, Cheb is an excellent base for exploring the whole Cheb and Karlovy Vary regions.
