Kanał Elbląski
Buczyniec
The Elbląg Canal is a technical monument of world importance, a 19th-century waterway linking lakes between Elbląg and Ostróda. Its unique feature is the inclined planes (pochylnie), where boats are hauled over height differences on rail carriages — literally sailing across dry land. The excursion cruise past Buczyniec and the other inclines is one of Poland's most extraordinary experiences. Nearby villages and Elbląg offer peaceful accommodation amid the nature of the Warmia-Masuria region.
