The Executioner's Bastion is a massive semicircular cannon bastion dating from around 1500 that formed part of Košice's town fortification system. It takes its name from the nearby house of the town executioner and today, together with Miklušova väznica and the Rodošto garden, forms an attractive museum complex. With its rampart walkway and courtyard, the bastion recalls the defensive history of the free royal town. It lies just steps from Hlavná Street, making central Košice a practical base for excursions around the region.
