Piešťany
Piešťany Spa is one of the most famous health spas in Slovakia. It is located in the eastern part of the town of Piešťany, mostly on Kúpeľný ostrov (Spa Island) between the left bank of the Váh and its dead branch arm. It is here that most of the thermal springs rise, with temperatures reaching 67 to 69 °C.
The wells named Trajan, Patria, V1 and V4 ensure a plentiful supply of healing water. Thanks to the thermal water and healing environment, Piešťany has built up a reputation over generations as a place where people come for rest, recovery and relief from health issues. The spa island, with its manicured parks, promenades and spa architecture, breathes a calm, timeless atmosphere.
Piešťany, however, is not just about the spa. The town offers pleasant pedestrian zones, cafés, cultural events and walks along the Váh, so there is something for everyone – from visitors seeking relaxation to those exploring the surroundings. A well-known spa bridge, one of the town's symbols, connects the island to the mainland.
If you're planning a stay in or around Piešťany, accommodation near the spa island is an ideal base. You'll have the spa, promenades and town centre within easy reach, and you can extend your stay with trips into the surrounding upper Považie region. Piešťany is thus a rewarding choice for a wellness weekend or a longer relaxing stay.
