Miklušova väznica
Košice
Miklušova väznica was formed by joining two 15th-century gothic burgher houses that served as the town prison and torture chamber from the early 17th century until 1911. Its underground cells, oubliette and torture chamber today house an evocative exhibition with wax figures of the executioner Miklúš and his victims. The building is part of the East Slovak Museum complex together with the Executioner's Bastion and the Rodošto garden. It sits right in the historic core of Košice, within easy reach of restaurants and accommodation.
