Modra
Modra
Modra is a picturesque town famous for winemaking and traditional Modra majolica, still hand-painted here today. The historic center is lined with wineries where you can taste local Veltliner and Frankovka Modrá, as well as remnants of the town walls and a gate. Above the town, in the popular Zochova chata recreation area, hiking trails branch out. Modra is one of the best places to experience the Little Carpathian Wine Route and a great base for wine and nature lovers alike.
