Hukvaldy

Hukvaldy is one of the most extensive castle ruins in Moravia, towering on a hill above the village of the same name. The approach leads through a picturesque game park where fallow deer and mouflon roam freely, home to the well-known statue of Sharp-Ears the Vixen honouring composer Leoš Janáček, a Hukvaldy native. The castle walls offer lovely views of the countryside, and cultural events take place on the grounds throughout the year. The castle is an ideal family-trip destination and a good base when staying at the foot of the Beskids.
