Hrad Rožmberk
Rožmberk nad Vltavou
Rožmberk Castle stands on a rocky spur above a meander of the Vltava River and is one of the oldest seats of the mighty Rožmberk family. Its preserved interiors, armoury and picture gallery breathe medieval atmosphere, and the castle is tied to the famous legend of the White Lady, Perchta of Rožmberk. The castle also includes the Jakobínka lookout tower. The small town of Rožmberk nad Vltavou lies just below the Lipno dam, so you can easily combine a castle visit with a stay by the lake and a canoeing trip down the Vltava.
