Vsetín Chateau is a Renaissance monument towering above the centre of Vsetín, the heart of eastern Wallachia. It now houses the Museum of the Wallachia Region, with exhibitions on the area's history, ethnography and art spread across several halls. The chateau is surrounded by a park, and its grounds offer a lovely view of the town in the valley of the Vsetínská Bečva river. Vsetín is a good base for exploring the southern Beskids, the Wallachian valleys and the nearby Javorníky mountains.
